Get involved – consumers, growers, producers, organizers.
A meeting for a proposed local food co-op at 65 Simcoe Street, in a renovated former newspaper building. The proposed co-op would be in a neighbourhood surrounded by performing and visual arts, the local newspaper, library and museum.
5:30 pm: Meet and Greet, refreshments provided.
6 pm: Presentation by Hannah Renglich of Ontario Natural Food Co-op. What is a co-op? Other business models for local food. An overview of current local food and farming co-ops. Who is doing what around the province?
7 pm: Round table discussion. Establishing a vision for local foods in Collingwood and the surrounding area. Who are our providers and consumers? How can each best be served? Where to go from here?
